How To Fix It: Driver Conflict And Distorted Resolution And Colors From Graphics Card
Computer consists of many hardware parts, each of which needs its own drivers and of course works better with the latest ones. However, some parts of it, such as the graphics card really have to be updated often, because their performance can be higher, especially in demanding videogames, using the latest software update. After all, that's why video card manufacturers and video card chipset creators such as Nvidia and ATI update their drivers very often.
When users need to update the video card drivers to the latest one, they need to follow a particular pattern which is:
Removal of old drivers > Reboot > Installation of latest driver > Reboot.
However, most users choose to just install the latest driver and reboot, which sometimes can cause problems due to conflicts between remaining files of the old driver and the full installation of the new one. Such conflicts can cause extreme colors distortion, messed up resolution (such as 640X480 and 8bit color settings) that cannot be fixed unless all drivers are removed, their traces are swept clean and the latest driver is installed. Even if the users do uninstall the previous version, however, no-one can guarantee that the old driver is really gone completely
Such kinds of errors and problems can occur with any kind of hardware driver upgrade, such as motherboard, PCI cards, etc. Thus it is necessary for the user to make sure all traces of the old drivers are gone before updating. That's where Driver Cleaner Pro comes handy; this small and convenient application lets you choose the kind of driver you wish to remove and then works swiftly into removing registry keys and files, completely eradicating the driver and making the system ready to accept a fully new driver.
The process is easy; though it is advised that the driver removal is done in Safe Mode (enter Safe Mode by clicking F2 or F8 depending on your motherboard before your operating system loads), it can also work well in normal mode. User will just run the software, choose the driver he wants to remove and it is simply done. By rebooting and then installing the latest driver the user will take the full advantage of having the latest driver installed, while at the same time he has avoided conflicts that create hassle and annoyance.
